The name of this restaurant can be a little misleading, the fare is standard Japanese. When you choose the buffet you can order sushi, sashimi, entrees and mains. I think my favourite dish of the night was the Mystery Balls. Serendipity was at work at J's as they weren't on the menu but somehow these little balls ended up on our table. We also don't know what they were made out of. This doesn't scare me though because I once ate dog by accident. It can't get much worse than that.
J's does a roaring trade with students coming from all over as well as Brighton locals using it as their mid week cheap eat. It's laid back and instead of concentrating on the food you can concentrate on conversation which is nice for a catch up with friends.
My brown boots came to J's as well.
